Good company, good food= a good review

Great italian dinner tonight at a local restaurant that consistently serves nice food, again, thanks to the radio. Mom was thrilled that her wine was included in the gift certificate (alcohol rarely is in deals like this) and I was thrilled with my spaghetti and meat sauce. It doesn't sound very adventurous, but I LOVE a good bowl of pasta that I don't have to cook. :-)

It's a higher end place but soooo worth it!

Mom had

INSALATA ROMA...................................................................................................................................................$9/$12
mixed greens, chèvre, roasted red peppers, toasted walnuts, balsamic vinaigrette

POLLO con ASIAGO.....................................................................................................................................................$19
spinach & asiago stuffed chicken breast with honey mustard cream sauce, garlic mashed
potatoes, vegetables

I have to tell you, her garlic mashed potato was to die for!

Along with the spaghetti, I got some tasty bruschetta bread

BRUSCHETTA..............................................................................................................................................................$7
grilled bread with olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, basil, red onion

I'm not usually a big fan of tomatoes, but they were finely chopped, lightly spiced, topped with red onion, on some really delicious garlic bread. Very nice.

We knew that we weren't close to the 100 dollar limit so we ordered a pizza to go, but because the certificate wouldn't cover "take out" the waitress brought it to our table, told us to eat one slice, and quickly returned to our table to wrap it up for us. How nice was that?

We had a similiar experience last year at this restaurant when we had a 200 limit. The waitress really seemed to enjoy bringing us different options and checking in, to see which were our favourites.

Pizza was simple, but I loved the thin crust and delicate touch with the tomato sauce. Nothing ruins a good pizza faster than a heavy hand with the sauce IMO.

MARGHERITA..............................................................................................................................................................$13
tomato sauce, mozzarella di bufala, basil

Good company, good food, good fun! Would definitely go back at full price on special occasions.
